This is not gsppca solution to do an exception for this particular driver. Per a decision made by the Ubuntu Kernel Team, bugs will longer be assigned to the ubuntu-kernel-team in Launchpad as part of the bug triage process.
I’m using the medibuntu skype package if it matters. I didn’t get to test with skype yet. It also gives lots of useful info about your camera. This is marked as Won’t Fix in a version of the kernel which is only available in a release of Ubuntu which is no longer under support. I have added the gspca package to the bug description as according to andypoo skype dev this seems to be related to the way krenel gspca is sending datas.
I also applied the patch to gspcav and compiled successfully. I’m not a coder myself Implementing workaround for a particular driver?!

This is a gspca issue, not an ekiga issue. A workaround that seems to work for me is to download, compile and load the vloopback module: The brightness slider in ekiga doesn’t working.
The task for the current kernel series is still open Incomplete; normally this yspca waiting for information from the submitter. I don’t know, that is an ekiga or a driver issue? This bug affects 2 people.

Too bad there isn’t just an option for this in ekiga. In this picture you can see the problem: I tend to go back and forth with ekiga, camorama, gqcam, and spcaview. It probably will work with the source from hardy, I was doing it wrong at first I think, so I downloaded the newer source.
